The Womens Transportation club was originally founded in 1951 as "THE WOMENS TRAFFIC CLUB." The first installation of officers was held in September, 1951. The club started with a mere thirteen members, but has grown in large proportions since then, growing to over seventy-five members in the first year.

Membership into the club consists of all women involved in the traffic, transportation and distribution; both shippers and receivers; fields. The purpose of the club is to offer scholarships in the transportation field through personal development; to support transportation/ distribution education by the awarding of their annual scholarships to various universities and community colleges; and to promote the transportation industry.
