updated: October 18, 2002 The Womens Transportation club was originally founded in 1951 as "THE WOMENS TRAFFIC CLUB." The first installation of officers was held in September, 1951. The club started with a mere thirteen members, but has grown in large proportions since then, growing to over seventy-five members in the first year.
Membership into the club consists of all women involved in the traffic, transportation and distribution; both shippers and receivers; fields. The purpose of the club is to offer scholarships in the transportation field through personal development; to support transportation/ distribution education by the awarding of their annual scholarships to various universities and community colleges; and to promote the transportation industry.
